Description

Beautiful 1930s Saks Fifth Avenue Fenton Footwear brown suede strap heels. You can find examples of 1920s and 30s Fenton Footwear in the MET, FIT and LACMA collections. Notice the triangular designs with the points coming together along a diagonal piece across the toes. These triangular pieces repeat around the heel, turning into the strap. Really stunning. Decorative metal buckle. Leather soles and interior.

label: Saks Fifth Avenue, Fenton Footwear

condition: These shoes have issues, but they are such a unique design and still wearable with care. Fenton Footwear crafted some of the more interesting footwear of the 1930s. The outside of the shoes shows little wear besides a couple small marks on the suede. The most obvious problem is that the right shoe is broken in half and a metal brace has been nailed into the shoe securing it. It seems to be doing its job, but I would wear these with care. Obviously the original owner wanted to keep wearing these shoes at all costs.

size: see measurements, no size printed on shoe. Appears to be a narrow 6.

measurements:
width: NARROW
length inside: 9 1/4″
width of ball of foot: 2 3/4″
Width over toes: 5 1/2″
heel height: 3 1/8″
