Description

Wonderful 1950’s Nettie Rosenstein dark blue medium-weight fine ribbed faille cocktail dress with dramatic protruding side pockets. Stand-up cape-style collar. Flattering tailoring with gores down sides of waist and hips. 3/4 length sleeves with cuffs. Protruding pockets have a drape effect of fabric on the front skirt leading into the pocket. The pocket opening becomes a decorative piece of tucked fabric and continues around the back of the skirt (see close-ups). Opening is eight small fabric buttons up front, bound button holes. Decorative tucked line of fabric down front skirt and one tucked line on each side of skirt descending at an angle toward the sides (see close-ups). Unlined. Labels read, “Nettie Rosenstein” and “Rike’s, Dayton, Ohio “. Belt loops, but not original to dress.

Condition: Excellent. Amazing condition for age, looks hardly worn, clean with no holes, stains, loose seams, or other issues. On close inspection there is one small scuff on the left side of the collar that is not noticeable. The back skirt seam has been let out an inch leaving a slight trace of the previous seam, not noticeable. One small shine mark on the right back shoulder, not noticeable.
