Incredible 1950’s Irene Lentz taupe brown silk herringbone suit with pointed details. Herringbone fabric is reflective with nubs like a shantung. There are three decorative ‘points’ along the front hem of the jacket and two in back. One down the front of the skirt. These points are a narrow piece of fabric ending in a point running the full length or the jacket and skirt. There are pointed pieces of fabric coming from each underarm with buttons at the point, front and back. The jacket is gored, beautiful tailoring. Pointed sleeve cuffs. Jacket is lined with a cream silk, skirt is unlined except for a partial section. Comes with the original extra button sewn into jacket lapel. Label reads, “Irene Exclusively for Neiman-Marcus.” Last photo shows a similar Irene design.

Condition: selling as-is, dry cleaned with no blatant wear. Checked inside and out for holes, stains, loose seams and wear. There is a small faint spot on the skirt and the underarms are slightly yellowed, but neither are blatantly noticeable due to the busy reflective fabric and hopefully a good dry cleaner can help. The inside lining is discolored (yellowed), mainly in underarms and around neckline, and has very slight fraying to the lining at two spots of the inside neckline right where the lining meets the jacket fabric. A couple loose seams.
