Description

1970s Frye for Georgetown Leather antiqued ‘burnt chestnut’ leather pull-on boots. Rounded toe, stacked leather heel. Designed with folded over leather around the top and a line down the sides. Toe is reinforced. Lined with a yellow/cream leather.

Georgetown was the wealthy hip area in Washington, DC (during my time, punk-y shops like Smash and Commander Salamander, an Urban Outfitters that sold actual vintage clothing, and a Betsey Johnson). Georgetown Leather was originally a hippie boutique, opening in 1968, over time becoming a high end leather goods shop/manufacturer. These Fryes were specially made for GL and the design appears to be unique.

label: FRYE for Georgetown Leather Design, made in U.S.A. 8495
