gorgeous 1930s mauve brown knit wool suit dress

Description

Gorgeous and rare 1930s mauve brown knit sweater and wool skirt set. Wonderful details on the sweater, passementerie style looped trim with tufted flowers. Cable knit sleeves and back while the front bodice is a wool suiting like the skirt. Unique plastic buttons up the front. Eight section gored skirt with a side button opening. Unlined.

label: the original Cronies, 100% virgin wool

condition: excellent for age. Fabric is crisp and bright, freshly cleaned and ready to wear. Checked for any issues like stains, holes and loose seams. On close inspection there is a little light spot on the left sleeve, see photo. You may be able to dye pen this, it’s such a small discoloration. A little pilling on the wool and the underarms are felted from wear.
