1930s dark blue eyelash wool coat with a pony fur collar

Description

Wonderful 1930s dark blue eyelash wool coat with a gray pony fur collar. The fabric has blue iridescent hairs or ‘eyelashes’ woven into the wool weave, creating a sparkle effect, imitating a mohair. Slightly puffed sleeves that taper toward cuff. Princess cut (no seam around the waist) with a fitted bust, waist and upper hip. Flared skirt with tailored pleats front and back. Please see the wonderful tailored lines down the sides along with the angled pockets and skirt pleats – nice 30s details! Four dark blue buttons up the front, feel like a Catalin or Bakelite. Lined with a dark blue rayon/acetate.

condition: excellent+ for age. Appears to be worn very little. Fabric is crisp and bright, checked for any issues like stains, holes and loose seams. On close inspection there are very very slight darkened rings on the interior lining underarms which are not noticeable. A couple small chips out of the Catalin/Bakelite buttons and iron shine on the lining.
