1950s 60s L’aiglon purple gingham dress and bolero

Description

Adorable late 1950s, early 1960s purple and white gingham dress and bolero set with white embroidered trim. Fabric is embroidered, possibly a cotton-rayon blend. Cute tiny shell buttons up the front of the bolero. Metal zipper up the back of the dress. Comes with the original belt.

condition: very good. Fabric is crisp and bright, freshly cleaned and ready to wear. Checked for any issues like stains, holes and loose seams. On close inspection the waist was let out a couple inches, darts were removed on the sides, but can be adjusted back. There are frays around the waistline which have been backed with a cotton interfacing to prevent further damage – these are hidden under the belt while wearing. Will post photos of this issue. FYI, belt has been cleaned since photos and is not in any way yellowed – it is bright and white now.
