Description

Rare 1940s Evalen Original light brown gabardine two-piece suit with dark brown soutache and beading. Love the cut of this suit. The jacket is smock-style, full like a swing coat in the back. Large shoulder pads and wide sleeves. Pointed collar and rounded front pockets. Please see the details of the embroidery/soutache, vines with flowers motif. Straight skirt with a side metal zipper opening and a button closure at the waist. Plush tan silky satin crepe lining.

label: Evalen Original

condition: from the repair pile. Selling this piece as it is with spots and moth holes. Moth nibbles are mostly around the interior collar, see last photos. The outfit would benefit from a dry cleaning, several spots on the skirt, see close-ups. Some faint spots on the jacket as well, but not as noticeable due to the busy embroidery. This rare suit is definitely worth cleaning, but can be worn as it is.
