1940s Pompadour brown cotton sari dress (like Tina Leser)

Description

Wow! Exactly like the famous Tina Leser sari dress, even has the same tassel on the pocket, but by an Indian label, Pompadour Bombay. Cotton batik-like bird print in shades of brown with a silky black, gold and red embroidered leaf trim. The dress is a sleeveless wrap dress which buttons up the right side and connects with hooks and eyes. The sari-like sash is attached at the left side with tucked pleats. Wraps around over the right shoulder and slips behind the belt. Belt has a strap on its interior which holds the sash in place. Large dramatic pocket on the left hip with a cute little golden metal thread tassel.
