Description
Luxurious brown fox fur shrug from Razook’s, a very high-end boutique at The Plaza Hotel in New York City. Large collar and front pockets. Hook closure in the front. Lined with an unusual lace-like dark brown fabric that is backed with a brown silk. Velvet strips across the shoulders to help hold the shrug in place.
label: Razook’s The Plaza Hotel, New York City [a luxury boutique at The Plaza Hotel in NYC, with other locations such as Palm Beach, Greenwich, etc… This shrug is from the same owner as items CT136 (Bonwit Teller evening coat) and CT135 (the blonde mink jacket), as well as numerous 1960s/70s Pauline Trigere dresses.]
condition: The fox fur is soft and pliable, no tears or repairs found, shows beautifully, however the fur is shedding. Lining is clean with no wear, stains or smell. Coat appears to have been adjusted based on the hand stitching along the front opening where the fur meets the lining – probably taken in some. Initials of original owner embroidered inside coat (VEB).
