Description
Beautiful Mary Sachs boutique high-end 1950’s black embroidered silk chiffon and organza dress with an accordion pleat inset. This dress is gorgeous. The embroidered fabric is a black organza over a white silk, embroidered with a thick black silky thread in a berry and leaf design. The bodice is a bustier with a silk crinkle chiffon over-blouse, high neckline in the front, dipped V back. The embroidered organza is appliquéd under the bust with scalloped edges. Piping around the waist. The skirt is full with a slit up the front, revealing the inset of accordion pleats made of a black marquisette. The skirt is scalloped down the front along the slit opening and also along the entire hem. Full black rayon underskirt. “Mary Sachs, Harrisburg, Lancaster” label. Condition: Excellent. Amazing condition considering the delicate fabric. Clean with no holes or wear. No noticeable stains. On close inspection there are some light brown stains on the underside of the silk organza, as well as one small pink smudge, but not visible on the outside of the dress. The accordion pleat inset actually runs across most of the front waist and the pleats to the far right and left have flattened out, but this is under the embroidered organza skirt and not visible [as shown in the photos].
