Description
Gorgeous 1950s designer Mollie Parnis purple silk taffeta dress with a curved asymmetrical neckline. A button opening up the left side with a bow. 3/4 length sleeves. The color is beautiful. Unlined. Side metal zipper opening. [crinoline not included]
label: Mollie Parnis, New York. Mollie Parnis was a high-end/couture American designer, best known for her First Lady clients.
condition: as-is, for study or repair, but worth saving. Underarms are weak and starting to fray on right side and at the top points of the diamond tailoring in the underarms. There is extra fabric from the hemline, as well as fabric lining the bodice that can be used for repairs. The right underarm has interfacing added to keep the fabric from fraying further as well as the fraying at the points. A couple of tiny pinholes in the skirt, but nothing noticeable. Dress has not been dry cleaned due to underarms, no noticeable stains.
