Description

From the repair pile: Absolutely gorgeous 1930’s 40’s red silk velvet bias-cut evening gown with rhinestone encrusted links at the straps. This dress is stunning and needs one creative repair. Metal zipper up the side.

condition: The main issue with this dress is one hole in the skirt – right front side right below the hip. I look forward to someone having a creative solution to this problem. The gown itself is beautiful, the fabric is beautiful. Structurally sound and completely wearable. A patch, an applique over the hole, a vertical dart – use your imagination because this dress is definitely worth fixing. The other issues: the bodice has been widened and pieces of velvet have been added to the sides. These can be removed. A spot on the back left strap and couple faint spots on the back skirt.
