1930s black velvet ruffled collar opera coat

Description

Great ruffled collar on this vintage black velvet opera coat. Velvet feels like a rayon/cotton. Faceted black cape-style buttons, two buttons are attached on a velvet string. Lined with a white silky fabric. I believe this was a 1930s coat that was altered. Looks like the sleeves were shortened, made into bell sleeves, and the buttons/buttonholes were added.

condition: outside of coat is excellent, lining has some issues. Checked for any issues like stains, holes and loose seams. The white interior lining has underarm staining and dinginess along the hem – this coat has not been dry cleaned yet and this may be helped with a cleaning. There are four small holes found on the lining. Also, where the sleeves were altered, there are traces white thread along the cuff. Photos of lining issues coming soon.
