Very rare, museum worthy 1940s 50s micro-bead and crewel work purse on a dramatic brass frame with clear beveled glass stones in a cluster of flower-shaped settings. No tags/markings, but attributing to Josef (purse) and Hobe (frame). Beautiful black glass micro-beads contrasting with rainbow crewel work, one color blending into the next, interspersed with gold metal thread crewel embroidery. Description
Very rare, museum worthy 1940s 50s micro-bead and crewel work purse on a dramatic brass frame with clear beveled glass stones in a cluster of flower-shaped settings. No tags/markings, but attributing to Josef (purse) and Hobe (frame). Beautiful black glass micro-beads contrasting with rainbow crewel work, one color blending into the next, interspersed with gold metal thread crewel embroidery. Purse opens and closes with a stone encrusted front lever. Off-white satin lining with two stacked pockets.

condition: not only is this purse out-of-this-world, but cannot find any issues with the beading or crewel work. All stones are present on the frame. The brass frame has some oxidation along the top, see last photos. The interior lining is excellent with the exception of a little lipstick smudge as shown in the last photos. Sturdy and well cared for.
