1950s blonde palomino mink fur standup cape collar jacket

Description

1950s blonde ‘palomino’ color mink jacket with a standup cape collar. Interior side pockets. This jacket came from the estate of starlet – a brief career in Hollywood and then she married, moved to the DC area. Looks to have been a high quality coat back in the day – numerous lines of stitches in the fur pelt – a lot of work went into making this coat. Fully lined with a silk jacquard fabric. The underside of the collar is lined with a velvet.

condition: outside mink is excellent, gorgeous fur and cut, but selling coat as it is due to the interior satin lining having fraying around neckline – see photos. Lining fabric in this area is weak and breaking, but can be replaced, which is commonly done with furs over the years. Also fraying to the underarm protectors, but actual underarms are not worn – can just remove underarm protectors. There are also a couple loose seams, a seam along the back collar where the velvet lining is loose and the lining underarms are loose, underneath the protectors – both easy fixes. As you can see, the velvet lining of the collar has dark marks around the edges, but may come out with a cleaning. Price is reduced due to issues.
