Extraordinary late 1950’s Oleg Cassini ribbed deep blue wool cocktail dress with bronze flower brocade. Beautiful color and truly unique fabric, have never seen anything like it. Medium weight wide rib wool fabric with metal bronze thread running through the entire fabric. Flattering gathered neckline with a bow at the center. Pressed gathers and dipped rounded shaping at the chest. V-shaped dip in the back. Fitted bust, waist and hips, no waist seam with princess seaming. Fully lined with a blue silk. Metal zipper up the back. Black on white “Oleg Cassini” label with crest trademark sewn in silver-grey.

Condition: No holes, loose seams, stains or noticeable issues. The fabric is a little fuzzy in areas, due to being a loose ribbed wool, not noticeable. Very slight lightening along the shoulders which is not noticeable. Several small pulls that have been trimmed, hard to explain since fabric is unusual, but the bronze is revealed below the trimmed pulls. Not noticeable, spots of bronze just look like part of the busy brocade design and mainly on lower skirt along the sides/hem. Slight discoloration to interior fabric, mainly along the interior back seams – not visible and may improve with a dry cleaning.
