Description
[belt not included] Pretty early 1960s black taffeta cocktail dress with two tiers of ruffles and a fitted bodice. Belt loops, no original belt, but looks great with a wide black belt. Metal zipper up the back, works fine, but dress form was too big to zip. Unlined. Fabric appears to be acetate.
label: Gay Gibson
condition: Fabric is crisp and clean, freshly dry cleaned. Checked for any issues like holes and loose seams. On close inspection there are several holes in a line down the left side of the top ruffle of the skirt and two along the front bodice waist. Tried to hide holes in pleats of skirt and backed ones along waist with black interfacing – these are easily hidden with a belt. No holes found elsewhere on dress. Price reflects issues.
