1950’s black gathered sheer chiffon party dress with a halter-like neckline and open back. The chiffon is probably a rayon fabric, soft and light. The dress is gathered right at the neck and the gathers fan out over the bust. Cummerbund waistline of gathered fabric wraps around the back. The chiffon from the neck creates a nice effect, pulled to the sides and attached to the back bodice, leaving the upper back revealed. Fully lined with a black acetate/rayon fabric. Metal zipper up the back. Only a size/lot label, reads “10”. [dress was photographed with an added crinoline]
Condition: Excellent. Checked thoroughly inside and out for issues. No stains or wear. On close inspection found a tiny snagged hole at the bottom of the skirt that is not noticeable. Also two tiny pulls on the skirt, also not noticeable. The neckline may have been slightly adjusted (let out about an inch), not noticeable. Beautiful and flattering dress!
