fine 1950s sculptural silk satin lace evening dress

Description

Beautiful high-end 1950’s fine black silk taffeta dress with a sculptural neckline, lace appliqué and a knife pleat skirt. The neckline is gathered along the shoulders and wraps around the back with boning to create shape. 3/4 length sleeves. The bodice is lined with and has an under-bodice of black raw silk. Black lace over a nude net and silk applique trimming the neckline, a line down the front and along the dropped waist around the back. The knife pleating on the skirt runs about midway down and then the fabric becomes smooth and full. A built-in crinoline with a horsehair band around the center and the bottom hem. Metal zipper up the back. No labels present besides the order/lot label. [photographed with an additional crinoline]

Condition: Excellent condition. Cannot find any flaws, clean and well cared for. No holes, stains, wear, loose seams or other issues.
